Community Initiatives (Aspen Institute)
The Roundtable on Comprehensive Community Initiatives was established
in 1992 as a forum in which people engaged in comprehensive community
initiatives (CCIs)-or, neighborhood-based efforts that seek improved outcomes
for individuals and families, as well as improvements in neighborhood
conditions by working comprehensively across social, economic, and physical
sectors—could discuss the lessons being learned by initiatives across
the country and work on common problems they are facing. Additionally,
CCIs operate on the principle that community building is a necessary aspect
of the process of transforming distressed neighborhoods.

Online database of neighborhood social indicators. CAN DO is an information
sharing network providing a comprehensive collection of data describing

County. Selected data are also available for Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake,
Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit counties. CAN DO is designed to be
used by nonprofit, community-based organizations, government entities,

National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS)
NCHS is the Federal Government's principal vital and health statistics
agency. Since 1960, when the National Office of Vital Statistics and the
National Health Survey merged to form NCHS, the agency has provided a

systems include data on events as well as information on health status,
