Mauricio Gastón Institute for Latino Community Development and Public Policy
The Mauricio Gastón Institute for Latino Community Development and Public Policy was established at the University of Massachusetts Boston through the initiative of Latino community activists and academicians in response to a need for improved understanding of Latino experiences and living conditions in Massachusetts. The task of the institute is to inform policy makers about issues vital to the Commonwealth's growing Latino community and to provide this community with information and analysis necessary for effective participation in public policy development.

Philanthropic Capacity Building Resource (PCBR) Database

The PCBR database contains 332 descriptions of capacity-building programs being carried out by U.S. foundations. Each program profile includes (a) a narrative description of the program, (b) contact information to learn more, (c) details about how the program is structured and funded and what types of assistance it offers to nonprofits, and (d) whether and how it has been evaluated.

Roundtable on Comprehensive Community Initiatives (Aspen Institute)
The Roundtable on Comprehensive Community Initiatives was established in 1992 as a forum in which people engaged in comprehensive community initiatives (CCIs)-or, neighborhood-based efforts that seek improved outcomes for individuals and families, as well as improvements in neighborhood conditions by working comprehensively across social, economic, and physical sectors—could discuss the lessons being learned by initiatives across the country and work on common problems they are facing. Network of Alliances Bridging Race & Ethnicity

Center on Urban Poverty and Social Change: Cleveland Area Network on Data and Organizing (CAN DO)
Online database of neighborhood social indicators. CAN DO is an information sharing network providing a comprehensive collection of data describing Cleveland's neighborhoods and the suburban municipalities in Cuyahoga County. Selected data are also available for Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit counties. CAN DO is designed to be used by nonprofit, community-based organizations, government entities, universities, scholars, and students, and others concerned with poverty and neighborhood conditions.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS)
NCHS is the Federal Government's principal vital and health statistics agency. Since 1960, when the National Office of Vital Statistics and the National Health Survey merged to form NCHS, the agency has provided a wide variety of data with which to monitor the Nation's health. NCHS data systems include data on events as well as information on health status, lifestyle and exposure to unhealthy influences, the onset and diagnosis of illness and disability, and the use of health care.

The U.S. Department of Energy Carlsbad Area Office (DOE/CAO) is making a new training program self-evaluation tool (TrainSAT) available at no cost to businesses, government agencies, educational institutions, non-profits, consultants, students, and citizens. The primary purpose of TrainSAT is to provide training groups with a systematic method for self-identifying the strengths and weaknesses of their training programs. This information can then be used to systematically improve training efforts. TrainSAT is a complete, turnkey package consisting of an administrator's guide, survey form, and norming data.
